Are your goals too big?
I’m gonna say something that might ruffle a few feathers or might surprise you coming from a coach—your goals are too big.
And before you abandon this post or send me your “dream big” quotes, hear me out. I want you to dream big. I want you to want all the things. I want you to succeed. But if you keep making huge goals without any plan or systems to support you, I’m afraid you won’t reach those goals you're aiming for.
If you’re setting goals, I encourage you to ask yourself these three questions:
From inner critic to inner coach
This is just a glimpse into the highlight reel of my inner critic these past few weeks. And let me tell you—she’s ruthless.
Would I ever say this to a friend? Of course not. So why do I let her talk to me this way?
“Reinvention” event replay is now on the How Good Can it Get Podcast!
I had the opportunity to speak at the Executive Unschool event last week on the topic of Reinvention.
The speakers tackled the topic from every angle—reinventing your business, reinventing your brand, and reinventing yourself from the inside out.
The conversation was captured on Bree’s podcast, How Good Can it Get …
Reinventing myself…again and again
I can think back to a handful of moments in my life when I’ve felt that same uncertainty—a yearning to “reinvent” myself, to rediscover or redefine who I was.
10 ways to show up for yourself (that I promise you have time for)
One of the things I’m most passionate about is helping women leaders show up for themselves.
It’s not an easy ask when so many people need or want something from you—family, children, team members, colleagues, friends, clients, parents, volunteer organizations, and more.
It’s a lot to balance, and it can be exhausting! So now I’m suggesting you show up for yourself too? I get it. You’re probably tempted to stop reading right now.
But what if we redefined what it means to “show up for yourself”?
What happens when you’re not at work?
This week, while listening to yet another episode of Armchair Expert, I found myself struck by a deceptively simple question posed by actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry … “What happens when you’re not at work?”
Do you have a word of the year?
I had a sense of what my word was for this year, but I was having a hard time putting it into one word. So, naturally, I asked my friend Chat GPT to help me.
5 questions to reflect on this year
The transition into a new year is a natural invitation to pause, reflect, and honor the year we’re leaving behind.
What anchored me in 2024
2024 was amazing, and hard, and beautiful … and hard. (Yes, I said “hard” twice. Not a typo.) Through it all, I found myself holding tightly to the things that kept me steady amidst the highs and lows.
The problem isn’t that you lack willpower
If you just try harder, want it more or dig deeper, you’ll get there. That’s the narrative we’ve been sold, but your success in reaching your goals does not come down to willpower alone.
Winter rituals I’m dreaming up
While I watch friends celebrate with family PJs photos and Elf of the Shelf, I’m afraid my husband would not put on matching PJs with me, and our pup, Bentley, may just eat that little Elf.
Finding my way back to myself
If I could go back and talk to the version of me who felt lost, here’s what I’d say…
