Podcast Interview: Design and Align Your Business Podcast
On September 4th, I had the honor of joining Anna Nichols for her Design and Align Your Business Podcast.
In this conversation, we talk about what it really takes to lead and live in alignment: the brave unraveling before the rebuild, the courage to choose your own definition of success, and the quiet, sovereign trust in your inner yes.
What I learned about alignment from our wedding day
On September 2, 2018, we got married at a jazz club in Denver. It wasn’t traditional, and that’s exactly why I loved it. What I loved most about our wedding was that it was so “us”. Reflecting on that day reminds me of how powerful it can be to block out the noise and choose what matters most. This is what it means to be aligned.
Your invitation to go first
this past weekend I was in Scottsdale, AZ, attending the Powerhouse Women event, and in the wake of that event, I'm somehow both ready to take on the world and completely drained (thus, the writing in bed part).
At the event, 600 women from around the world came together for connection, inspiration, and growth. In addition to my Powerhouse Women coaching programs and masterminds I've participated in, I've attended this event for the past three years. I always walk away inspired by the women on stage as much as the women that I meet, all of whom remind me of what is possible.
“You look happier”
The current trend on social media where you put the quote “you look happier” on a video with additional context of why you are happy.
Have you seen it?
The power of sharing our stories
This week, I’m attending a Women’s Salon Dinner event where the goal is to have meaningful conversations.
There is no agenda other than connection.
When life doesn’t go as planned (and everyone else is posting baby pictures)
There’s a unique kind of heartbreak that comes with watching life unfold differently than you planned. Our worth is not defined by our timelines and our value is not measured by what we’ve accomplished by a certain age.
Three ways to reclaim your no
Let’s be honest: saying no isn’t always easy.
But every yes costs you.
The time I took myself on a date
In the past few years, I've taken a few solo trips to attend events, and it surprised me how much I love to travel alone.
It's a little scary and outside my comfort zone, but there's something about time by yourself that elicits new thoughts and ideas and different observations of the world around you.
Introducing Align Society
Today, I'm so excited to introduce you to Align Society! 🎉
This program has been on my heart for many years, and I could not be more excited to bring it to life.
How to break free from the Loneliness Loop
The truth is, we can feel lonely even when standing in a crowded room full of familiar, friendly faces.
What I’ve learned is that sometimes loneliness is not about our proximity to people. It’s about feeling alone in our feelings. When we feel like we’re alone, we’re less inclined to tell anyone how we’re feeling, which makes us feel even more alone in our feelings—trapping us in an endless cycle of loneliness.
I call this the Loneliness Loop.
Are your goals too big?
I’m gonna say something that might ruffle a few feathers or might surprise you coming from a coach—your goals are too big.
And before you abandon this post or send me your “dream big” quotes, hear me out. I want you to dream big. I want you to want all the things. I want you to succeed. But if you keep making huge goals without any plan or systems to support you, I’m afraid you won’t reach those goals you're aiming for.
If you’re setting goals, I encourage you to ask yourself these three questions:

How to use your social media for good
Can you use your social media for good? Instead of giving up and deleting your apps altogether, here are some ways I've found to make it a healthier, more positive space.
My inner critic is a real B
This is just a glimpse into the highlight reel of my inner critic these past few weeks. And let me tell you—she’s ruthless.
Would I ever say this to a friend? Of course not. So why do I let her talk to me this way?
7 Lessons from my pup
I’m not the first to reflect on the profound impact our pets can have on us, and I most certainly won’t be the last. But as my dog, Bentley, gets older, I find myself thinking more and more about the lessons he’s taught me and the ways he’s impacted my life. I find myself both wishing he’d slow down and worrying he’s slowing down all at the same time.
Podcast Interview: “Reinvention” event replay is now on the How Good Can it Get Podcast!
I had the opportunity to speak at the Executive Unschool event last week on the topic of Reinvention.
The speakers tackled the topic from every angle—reinventing your business, reinventing your brand, and reinventing yourself from the inside out.
The conversation was captured on Bree’s podcast, How Good Can it Get …
Reinventing myself…again and again
I can think back to a handful of moments in my life when I’ve felt that same uncertainty—a yearning to “reinvent” myself, to rediscover or redefine who I was.
10 ways to show up for yourself (that I promise you have time for)
One of the things I’m most passionate about is helping women leaders show up for themselves.
It’s not an easy ask when so many people need or want something from you—family, children, team members, colleagues, friends, clients, parents, volunteer organizations, and more.
It’s a lot to balance, and it can be exhausting! So now I’m suggesting you show up for yourself too? I get it. You’re probably tempted to stop reading right now.
But what if we redefined what it means to “show up for yourself”?
